I was initially taught the Highland Bagpipes by Pipe Major J. Pryde and then Pipe Major C. Fairburn from the age of 9 at the Edinburgh Academy, Scotland, UK.

The last few years of school I also played with Peebles Ex-Servicemen’s Pipe Band and Toured Europe with the Edinburgh University Dance Group.

After School, I spent several months instructing the CBC College Pipe Band in Kimberley, South Africa, then traveled around the country also seeing Zimbabwe and Swaziland.

I then went on to join Grampian Police Pipe Band whilst studying Mechanical Engineering at the University of Aberdeen.

After graduation and some more instruction from Pipe Major J. Pryde I went to the USA to become the Pipe Major for the Manchester Regional Police & Fire Pipe Band where I am at present.

Spending a year here in the New England area, I have now also joined as a competing member of Oran Mor Pipe Band, Grade 2.

I am now starting to prepare for solo competition under the tutelage of Donald Lindsay.
